This report is the result of an opportunity offered to the Canadian Adaptive Network to be one of the advocacy groups included in an Occupational Therapy course in Advocacy and Occupational Justice at Moravian University, Pennsylvania. Six graduate students were assigned to work with CAN to learn about our mission and then to develop a project designed to address an issue which CAN identified as a priority. We decided that we needed to hear directly from people with disabilities and their advocates about what it’s like living in Fernie with disabilities. The students then designed and conducted interviews and used the results to produce a Needs Assessment which included key findings and recommended next steps.
